Hugh Wood's Cello Concerto, concentrated into a single movement, is full of vigorous and dramatic orchestral writing; the ethereal Violin Concerto, performed by its dedicatee, is in three movements, centring upon the mercurial scherzo.
Originally released on Unicorn-Kanchana in 1978. Reissued with funding from Arts Council England.
